(Nasdaq: EXTR), a leader in Ethernet broadband networking solutions, at NetWorld+Interop Las Vegas 2004 to demonstrate how businesses benefit from integrated end-to-end converged voice and data network solutions. Building on momentum generated by the alliance between the two companies, Avaya will highlight technology enhancements, service offerings and new applications that help companies take advantage of the efficiencies and advanced capabilities of Internet Protocol (IP) communications solutions from Avaya and Extreme. NetWorld+Interop takes place at the Las Vegas Convention Center, May 9–14, 2004.

This year's show will focus on Enterprise Collaboration and Voice over IP (VoIP). For the second consecutive year, Avaya will provide IP telephony communications systems and applications for eNet, the official NetWorld+Interop show network. In addition, Avaya Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) solutions will be featured in the show's popular iLab initiative sponsored by Network World, which will focus this year on "VoIP using SIP." Demonstrating interoperability of SIP-enabled VoIP systems and applications, the iLab will offer conference attendees an in-depth view of communications and collaboration technologies enabled by SIP.

Three Avaya solution areas will be displayed in booth #1425 from May 11–13, 2004:

• Network Management — Avaya will demonstrate integrated interfaces for streamlined management of end-to-end converged network solutions from Avaya and Extreme. In addition, next-generation proactive network monitoring technology from Avaya Labs will illustrate how consistent monitoring and assessment can help companies optimize the functioning of IP telephony networks.
• Avaya Global Services — Avaya maintenance and management services for integrated networks from Avaya and Extreme will be introduced. Security and Business Continuity Consulting practices will be featured along with Avaya ExpertNet assessment tools that assist businesses in evaluating IP network readiness.
• Future Technologies Demonstration — Avaya will preview an integrated video softphone currently under development in alliance with PolyCom, the world's leader in video and voice conferencing, conference bridges, and integrated web collaboration solutions.

Avaya executives will speak at the following NetWorld+Interop sessions:

• Creating Business Value with IT: Disruptive Customer Value Linked to IT Business Transformation — Tom Lesica, Avaya group vice president, Global Information Technology and Business Operations, will discuss how the role of IT is changing from a tactical function to an integral partner in the design and execution of competitive long-term business strategies.
